There is a lot to teach on about prayer. Many things we can learn, apply and change in our lives to help us to have a more effective prayer life. We already covered about Jesus’ habits of prayer, asking and receiving, and hindrances to prayer. This Sunday we are going to discuss the mechanics of prayer. In the Gospel accounts of Matthew and Luke one of the Lord's disciples made the statment "Lord teach us to pray" Not "HOW to pray" but "Teach us TO pray" A big difference. Prayer is not just saying all the right words to get God to do something. Prayer is relationship. Relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For the month of October we are going to examine the Scriptures as what they teach us about prayer. We find throughout all of Scripture the importance of prayer, all the way through from Genesis to Revelation we find prayer as the outlet of power that puts us in connection with the spiritual realm to accomplish God’s work, God’s way.
